21st Origami Tanteidan Convention

5 minutes walk to Hakusan station (Tokyo Metro Mita line) and Hon-komagome station (Tokyo Metro Namboku line) - Attendance fee:
- Registration: JPY 2,500 for those coming from overseas
- Dinner on Saturday: JPY 4,500 for each

Born in 1966 in Hue, Viet Nam

Shuki Galen Kato (USA)
Born on Feb. 7, 1990, Shuki Kato first learned about origami around age 6 from John Montroll’s, “Origami for the Enthusiast” and shortly afterward began designing his own original models. In 2000 he became a member of OrigamiUSA and in college he lectured in small classes about origami design and taught simple origami models and folding techniques.
Outside of origami Shuki is avid golfer and enjoys studying about animals (primarily dinosaurs and insects) and is a fan of fantasy novels and Japanese manga and anime. Currently, he resides in Kalispell, MT.

9th JOAS Origami Model Competition
We are now accepting your models for the 9th JOAS Origami Model Competition. Please see the Application Guidelines (PDF) for the details. Your pieces should arrive by July 31.

- JOAS AWARD -Zodiac Prize- : Monkey

- We are accepting origami models of Monkey, which is the zodiac symbol of the next year.
- ORIGAMIHOUSE AWARD : Any origami models
- You can submit up to one model to each of the three competitions.
- You can use multiple sheets (specify the number and size(s) of the sheets). Cuts are not allowed.
- The models to be sent must be unpublished original creations by the folder, so please do not publish diagrams, crease patterns or models before the Convention.
- The JOAS Awards are selected based on the votes of JOAS Board members and the participants of the Convention. The Origamihouse award is selected by Origamihouse.
- If you are making a model of a copyrighted character, you must have permission from the copyright holder(s).
Call for Diagrams
As usual, we are accepting diagrams for the convention book from folders all over the world. Send your original diagrams at conv21@origami.gr.jp by June 30, 2015.
Please send diagrams in digital data. Preferable format is either Adobe Illustrator or FreeHand. Templates are available to download.
Please note that submitted diagrams will be screened by our staff members. If your diagrams are published in the convention book, we will send you a complimentary copy, so please let us know your postal address.
The 6th Korea Origami Convention
Dates: August 22-23, 2015
It is next week of 21st Origami Tanteidan Convention. It is convenient transport and schedule. it'll be fun if you attend to both convention.
