On-site at the University of Tokyo Yayoi campus and Online Streaming (zoom) from one of the rooms at the site.

Participation Requirements

All origami enthusiasts of elementary school age and older are welcome to participate. (elementary students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

  • Admission fee is required to enter the venue, including accompanying individuals.

Admission fee

On-site adult: JPY 7,000
On-site students: JPY 5,000
Online: JPY 3,000

*Due to technical and staff limitations, online streaming will be limited to the events that take place in a specified room, so you will be able to attend only a part of the workshops and events with the online ticket.

Special Guests

Gotani Tetsuya

Born in 1974, Oita Prefecture, currently living in France. He disseminates origami locally through classes, exhibitions, and lectures. For the past few years, he has focused on his own creative activities, but recently he has been motivated to read and learn from other artists’ works. He published the book “Origamix”.

Kim Jin Woo

Born in 1979, started origami when he was 6 years old. He currently works for a semiconductor manufacturing company. He is active as a creative committee member of the Korean Origami Association, and is also the leader of the Origami Pro group. He likes folding from crease patterns and design animals and object models as themes.

Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (B) “Universal Origami”

Ekaterina Lukasheva

Born in Moscow, Russia in 1986, Lives in USA. She specializes in modular and curved fold origami. She loves to create complex looking origami with easy building blocks. She believes that half of origami’s beauty lies in the pleasurable folding experience.

OATC (Origami Artist Trading Card) Exchange

How to participate in the on-site exchange: Make 64 x 89 mm (strictly required) cards with origami and exchange them with each other at the venue. There is no specific theme. Please make about 10-20 cards.
